Bloomers! I was sooo happy to have a second this past weekend to get out with Michael and shoot some photos. I'm in the heat of finals time for school right now and I'm swamped with term projects. It was absolutely gorgeous this day! I've been having to wear a coat to our shooting location, and then immediately put it back on after shooting, but this day felt so good to be able to walk around in jeans and this adorable eyelet top. I normally don't like peplum tops, but the femininity and innocence to this shirt is what got me. I'll certainly be wearing this all summer!
I saw this western belt on UO's site, and since they're "trending" right now, I figured I'd give it a try. A lot of people steer clear of trendy things, and I get not wanting to wear something just because it's being accepted by the majority or because Kylie Jenner was last seen in it. However, the industry of fashion is literally changing by the minute, and since I plan to continue working in the fashion world, I need to stay up to speed and see for myself what the hype of some trends are all about, and it's actually pretty fun. The crazy thing is that "trends" didn't even start until the 70's. Up until then, everyone wore the exact same thing. So, I'm thankful that we now exist in a time of diversity. Although Annalise has worn a western style belt way before they were trendy, I do actually enjoy this trend. The idea of wearing something for function and style is a huge part of product development and fashion, and I dig it. This is one trend I can back.
How do you guys feel about trends?!
