WEARING: ZARA DRESS AND CAPE | H&M BOOTS

Sometimes I feel like people shy away from floral in the winter time. Being one of my favorite prints, I always like to find ways to wear it to feel season appropriate. Pairing a floral print with a heavier textile like suede/leather or wool can bring a wintery feel to the print, as can opting for the print on a  garment with some length. With this dress being long sleeved, it already serves the purpose of keeping me warm. This particular day happened to be warm allowing me to ditch the tights, but if it's a floral dress you're wearing, tights or fun stockings with some killer knee high boots can pull those flowers right into winter as well.

Umm...we need to talk about this cape. I certainly love a good jacket or vest with some fringe, but a cape brings it to a whole new level. I'm so in love with the subtle arm slits and the tie closure at the top. It's like, a poncho, a cape, and a jacket all in one. I'm so excited that I found this unique piece and I'm probably going to try to wear it in the Spring and Summer as well, even though it's super heavy and warm. Catch me down in the subway stations in 4 months absolutely sweating just so I can wear this forever...........
